NHR 4800 Cycler and Battery Emulator

The NH Research 4800 is a small, incredibly adaptable battery cycler that fits neatly into a 4U chassis while yet providing outstanding performance. This multipurpose gadget performs multiple functions such as DC source, DC load, battery emulation, and amplifier for testing power hardware-in-the-loop (PHIL). The NHR 4800 is a single unit that can provide up to 80VDC and 400A, with scalable power ranging from 16.5kW to 165kW. To improve its operational flexibility, the fully integrated cycler includes pre-charge circuits, isolation contactor relays, and a reverse polarity checker.

Because it can source as well as load batteries, the NHR 4800 performs exceptionally well in battery cycling. It is perfect for test applications in powertrain and propulsion systems, electric vehicle (EV) fast charging, and related scenarios because of its battery emulation mode, which faithfully replicates batteries or bi-directional DC buses. With its several working modes, which include Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT), Arbitrary Profiles (XY and Macros), Sinusoidal on DC, and an integrated battery cycle profile controller, the device provides extensive testing solutions.

The NHR 4800's application to research settings is expanded by the PHIL functionality, enabling thorough and accurate testing.
